The Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly

Synopsis via Goodreads:
It is a secret the Chinese government has been keeping for forty years.

They have found a species of animal no one believed even existed. It will amaze the world.

Now the Chinese are ready to unveil their astonishing discovery within the greatest zoo ever constructed.

A small group of VIPs and journalists has been brought to the zoo deep within China to see its fabulous creatures for the first time.

Among them is Dr. Cassandra Jane ‘CJ’ Cameron, a writer for National Geographic and an expert on reptiles.

The visitors are assured by their Chinese hosts that they will be struck with wonder at these beasts, that they are perfectly safe, and that nothing can go wrong.

Of course it can’t…

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley in return for a honest review.

OMG!! This is a book that starts out with a bang and never stops!! It is an action packed book full of excitement, adventure, nail-biting moments, international intrigue, and did I mentions DRAGONS?!!

Mr. Reilly is a top notch action adventure author. He knows exactly how to get you hooked from the very first half of the first chapter and keep you glued to the pages until the very last word.

I really loved the thought and imagination that went into creating the dragons. The fact that Mr. Reilly created multiple types of dragons made the story multi-dimensional. It went beyond man vs. dragon. It was a story with so many complexities: man vs. man, man vs. dragon, dragon vs. dragon, dragon/man vs. man, man/dragon vs. dragon.
I would LOVE to see this book made into a movie! The action is non-stop, the explosions would be epic, the dragons would be spectacular, and the fact that a woman is the main character/heroine would make it even more epic! But of course, China may end up threatening us again. . .

This story is on par with Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park series. The science makes you think that it is a possibility, the adventure pulls you along for the ride, and the dragons, well let's just say there are one or two that will make you wish you could have one of your own.

This is a MUST read!!
